# Using new gp3 volumes

Is there going to be a way to use the new gp3 volumes that AWS just announced? They are cheaper and have a dramatically higher bottom IOPS threshold of 3k instead of 100. I didn’t see anything in the rack params to control which type of EBS volume is being used though.
