# Changing MaxAvailabilityZones

I would like to take advantage of some of the new m5 EC2 instance types, however the region (ap-southeast-2) only has them available in 2 AZs.

Could changing the MaxAvailabilityZones rack parameter from 3 to 2 enable the rack to reach a steady state (and effectively only ask for instances in the two AZs)?
